Information on the registration process for final theses
We are pleased that you are considering writing your thesis (B.A./M.A.) at our department. Before contacting us, please check the GSI website to see if any team members are supervising theses during the semester in question. Please also review our teaching and research activities to determine whether they are thematically compatible.
Please write your proposal, following the general guidelines. Applications submitted after the deadline cannot be considered.
If your proposal is rejected, this indicates that your ideas are not yet sufficiently developed to enable you to write a successful thesis. In such cases, we recommend that you—if possible—write your thesis one semester later. Use the time until then to revisit key aspects for example by taking the “Research Design” course.
If, despite the rejection, you wish to or are required to write your thesis this semester, you can register for the thesis directly at the Student Affairs Office. You will then be assigned an advisor.
